2027 Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School (Mo.) wide receiver Nick Weaver will be officially visiting Colorado on June 19.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound wideout announced an offer from the Buffaloes on May 26 by CU assistant director of player personnel Devin Ruffin. Then, after showing out at CU’s annual Football Elite Camp on June 4, Weaver set his visit date.
“Getting an offer from Colorado means a lot to me,” Weaver told BuffStampede. “It shows that all the hard work I’ve put in is paying off, and it’s exciting to be recognized by a program like Colorado.”
While Weaver doesn’t have numbers from the past season and has just one other offer, from Division II Missouri Southern State, his physical potential stands out.
At 6-foot-3, with a 33-inch standing vertical and 10-foot broad jump, Weaver has shown the ability to get open and be a wide target. And he has huge 10.25-inch hands.
“Being 6-foot-3 helps me use my size and length to my advantage,” Weaver said. “It allows me to compete for the ball, create separation and make plays that smaller players might not be able to make.”
Weaver is also the younger brother of Minnesota freshman tight end Gabe Weaver, who was ranked a three-star out of high school. The Gophers had the younger Weaver on campus for their June 7 training camp. He was also at Lindenwood’s camp on June 5.
Simply put, the young wideout is catching the attention of college coaches, including CU head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.
“I bring energy, competitiveness and a strong work ethic every time I step on the field,” Weaver said. “I’m a team-first player who plays hard, stays disciplined and looks for ways to make an impact on every play.”
Weaver also plays basketball and has a 3.4 GPA.
