Andre Gurode returned to Colorado as assistant offensive line coach in February 2025, bringing more than a decade of NFL experience back to his alma mater.
A four-year starter for the Buffaloes from 1998–2001, Gurode earned consecutive first-team All-Big 12 honors and was a consensus first-team All-American as a senior. He allowed just 7.5 sacks across 2,653 career snaps, received the John Mack Award as CU’s most outstanding offensive player and was inducted into the CU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023.
The Dallas Cowboys selected Gurode 37th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft. He appeared in 161 games with 131 starts across 12 seasons, earning five consecutive Pro Bowl selections and first-team All-Pro honors in 2007. He also helped pave the way as Emmitt Smith became the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.
Before returning to Boulder, Gurode coached offensive lines in the XFL and UFL. A native of Houston’s Bayou City, he earned his degree in ethnic studies from Colorado.
