Andreu Swasey joined Colorado as head strength and conditioning coach in August 2025, bringing decades of experience in football performance, speed and agility training.
Swasey built his reputation during 15 seasons leading Miami’s strength and conditioning program. He oversaw the daily development of more than 100 football players while directing a staff responsible for all 18 Hurricanes scholarship sports. His Miami tenure included 12 bowl appearances and the program’s 2001 national championship season.
Before becoming a strength coach, Swasey coached defensive backs at Houston and Copperas Cove High School, giving him a player-focused understanding of football’s technical and physical demands.
A native of the Magic City, Swasey played defensive back at Baylor, earning two letters and starting at strong safety as a senior in 1993. He previously earned junior college All-America honors at Fort Scott Community College. Swasey graduated from Baylor with a degree in sociology. He and his wife, Monica, have four children: Andrew, Jovon, Ashlinn and Jaela.
