Desmond Moultrie joined Colorado’s staff in 2026 as a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs.
Moultrie reunited with Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders after previously playing for him at Jackson State. A running back for the Tigers, he spent three seasons in the program and was part of the foundation Sanders established during the early years of his tenure in Jackson.
At Colorado, Moultrie assists cornerbacks coach Aaron Fletcher and safeties coach Vonn Bell with the development of the Buffaloes’ secondary. His responsibilities include supporting position drills, film preparation and the daily standards within the defensive backs room.
Moultrie’s familiarity with Sanders’ coaching philosophy and program culture gives him a valuable perspective as he begins his coaching career in Boulder. The move from Mississippi’s Capital City to the Flatirons represents a full-circle transition from player to coach within the Coach Prime program.
