Josh Niblett was named Colorado’s tight ends coach in January 2026 after a decorated 26-year career as a high school head coach.
Niblett most recently led Gainesville High School in Georgia to a 45-9 record and two Class 5A state championship appearances in four seasons. He previously spent 14 years at Hoover High School, compiling a 171-26 record and winning six state titles. He also captured a championship at Oneonta, becoming the only coach in Alabama history to win seven state championships.
Across four head coaching stops, Niblett posted a 281-67 career record while building a reputation for disciplined execution, offensive development and championship-level program culture.
A former two-time all-state quarterback, Niblett lettered three seasons at Alabama under Gene Stallings. The Yellowhammer State coaching veteran began his career as an assistant at Meadowview Christian Academy and Jacksonville State before moving into the high school ranks.
Niblett earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education/fitness. He and his wife, Karon, have three children.
