Kyle Wagner joined Colorado in December 2025 as assistant running backs coach and offensive analyst after serving in the same role under offensive coordinator Brennan Marion at Sacramento State.
Wagner helped the Hornets produce one of the FCS’ most productive rushing attacks in 2025. Sacramento State set a program record with 39 rushing touchdowns, ranked second nationally with 2,248 rushing yards and averaged 33.8 points per game. The Hornets also produced three 100-yard rushers in the same game for the first time in program history.
Before moving into the college ranks, Wagner built a successful high school coaching career in the St. Louis area. He led Lutheran North from 2021–24 and guided the Crusaders to a Missouri state championship in his final season.
Wagner’s familiarity with Marion’s run-focused offensive system and his recruiting ties in the Gateway City region add continuity and experience to Colorado’s offensive staff.
