Aidan McCool joined Colorado men’s basketball as a graduate manager prior to the 2025–26 season after completing a five-year playing career at Maryland and Louisville.
McCool spent two seasons as a reserve guard at Maryland before transferring to Louisville, where he appeared in 25 games over three seasons. He earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2022 and was named to the NABC Honors Court for academic excellence in 2023. His college career included NCAA Tournament appearances with both programs.
A Charleston native from the Palmetto State, McCool was a three-time all-region and All-Lowcountry selection at Bishop England High School. As a senior, he averaged 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists while helping the Bishops finish 26-3 and win a regional championship. He scored 1,052 points during his high school career.
McCool studied kinesiology at Maryland and exercise science at Louisville before beginning his coaching career in Boulder.
