Derrick White was named Colorado men’s basketball’s first President of Basketball Strategy on June 24, 2026, creating a new advisory and leadership role within Tad Boyle’s program.
White provides guidance on NIL, revenue sharing, roster construction, player development and team culture while also serving as a program ambassador. His responsibilities include supporting donor relations, helping cultivate new revenue opportunities and advising Colorado’s athletic director.
A Parker native, White began his college career at UCCS before transferring to Colorado. During the 2016–17 season, he led the Buffaloes in scoring, assists, steals, minutes and 3-pointers while setting a program record for blocks by a guard. He earned first-team All-Pac-12 and all-defensive honors before becoming a first-round NBA Draft selection.
The Centennial State product won an NBA championship with Boston in 2024 and earned an Olympic gold medal with Team USA that same year.
