Stephen Englehart joined Colorado’s athletic department in 2011 and has directed the men’s basketball strength and conditioning program since April 2016. He was named director of strength and conditioning for Olympic sports in July 2018.
Englehart has helped oversee the physical development of eight future NBA players, including first-round selections Derrick White, Cody Williams and Tristan da Silva. During his tenure with men’s basketball, Colorado has recorded five 20-win seasons, made two NCAA Tournament appearances and set a program record with 26 victories in 2023–24.
Before taking over men’s basketball, Englehart worked with CU football, soccer, golf and tennis. He previously held strength and conditioning roles at SMU, Portland State and Hawai‘i, where he was on staff during the Warriors’ undefeated 2007 regular season and Sugar Bowl appearance.
Born in the Crescent City and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana, Englehart earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana and a master’s degree from Hawai‘i.
