Tyson Gilbert was named Colorado men’s basketball assistant coach and quality control analyst on May 13, 2026, following two seasons as a graduate manager with the Buffaloes.
During his initial CU tenure, Gilbert compiled scouting information, worked with players during practice and helped oversee the program’s student managers. His familiarity with Tad Boyle’s program and ability to connect with players helped him quickly grow into a leadership role.
A Highlands Ranch native, Gilbert played four collegiate seasons between CSU Pueblo and Alaska Anchorage, averaging 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists. As a senior in 2023–24, he averaged 15.3 points, earned first-team All-GNAC honors and helped Alaska Anchorage reach the NCAA Tournament with a 22-11 record.
The Centennial State product was named UAA Athlete of the Year and received the Trajan Langdon Award for leadership, integrity and sportsmanship. Gilbert earned his degree in journalism and public communications from Alaska Anchorage in 2023.
