Ben Gula joined Colorado in 2026 after a four-year varsity career at Cypress Bay High School in South Florida.
Gula arrived in Boulder as an offensive lineman before moving to tight end, bringing a background that included four straight All-District selections and an All-State honor. He was also a basketball player at Cypress Bay, which makes a little more sense once you learn that the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder can dunk.
And that is hardly Gula’s only hidden talent.
The Sunshine State product enjoys fishing, hunting and video games, can juggle and, perhaps most importantly for any future team camping trip, knows how to fillet a fish. He is the son of Jon and Michelle Hennemyre and has three sisters.
Between the basketball background, outdoor hobbies and unexpected skill set, Gula already has one of the roster’s more entertaining personal sections.
