Bo LaPenna joined Colorado in 2023 after a four-year varsity career at Adams City High School, just down the road from Boulder in Commerce City.
LaPenna was a true two-way player in high school, starring at running back and linebacker before settling into the defensive side of the ball at CU. His role with the Buffaloes has largely come through special teams, where he has steadily earned opportunities while continuing to develop at linebacker.
For the Colorado native, the person he wants to become has long mattered alongside the player. As a high school recruit, LaPenna described himself as respectful and hardworking and said one of his goals was to become a good role model for his younger siblings and a better man.
That makes his path from Commerce City to the state’s flagship football program feel particularly fitting: a local player quietly building his career through patience, special teams and persistence.
