Braylon Edwards joined Colorado in 2026 as an early enrollee after a four-year varsity career at Wilmer-Hutchins and Duncanville in Texas.
Edwards recorded 224 tackles, 37 pass breakups and seven interceptions across 46 high school games, spending his final two seasons at perennial power Duncanville. The consensus three-star prospect helped the Panthers reach the Texas 6A state championship game as a junior.
The Lone Star State product brings a different combat-sports influence to the secondary. Edwards spent much of his childhood boxing and says the hand speed, toughness and ability to recover after getting hit translate directly to playing defensive back. He also played little-league football for Deion Sanders, giving the two a relationship that predates Colorado.
One of eight siblings raised by a single mother, Edwards describes his family and the village behind him as his motivation. His game-day soundtrack is NBA YoungBoy, and he says commitment means giving everything he has.
