Cree Thomas joined Colorado ahead of the 2026 season after beginning his college career at Notre Dame.
Thomas appeared in three games as a true freshman for the Fighting Irish, recording a tackle and pass breakup. Before college, he was a three-year starter and team captain at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, earning first-team all-state and all-region honors in each of his final two seasons. He finished his prep career with a school-record nine interceptions.
There is plenty more to Thomas than football. He has described faith and family as the most important things in his life and says his parents taught him to be a student first. At Brophy, he sang in the choir, competed in track, participated in the Black Student Union and was described by his coach as a leader, role model and one of the school’s most well-liked students. Thomas has even admitted he gets nervous before every game because of how much he cares.
