DeKalon Taylor joined Colorado ahead of the 2025 season after developing into an all-conference running back and return specialist at Incarnate Word.
Taylor played in four games with one start for the Buffaloes in 2025 before an injury ended his season. He rushed for 83 yards and added 10 receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns. At Incarnate Word, he began as a slot receiver before moving to running back and finished his three seasons with 1,053 rushing yards, nine touchdowns and more than 1,100 combined kick and punt return yards. He earned first-team All-Southland honors and Academic All-Southland recognition in 2024.
The East Texas product also played baseball at Longview High School and says growing up a Lobo gave him an extra level of grit. Taylor has been quick to credit his offensive line for his success and has encouraged younger athletes to keep going, stay on track and believe in themselves.
