Donavon Stephens joined Colorado ahead of the 2026 season after spending a year at Georgia Military College.
The Alpharetta native played both defensive back and receiver at Collins Hill High School, showing the ball skills and versatility that eventually brought him to Colorado’s secondary. He did not see game action during his year at Georgia Military before making the move to Boulder.
Speed has been one of the defining traits of Stephens’ athletic profile. CU has credited him with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash and a 10.7-second 100 meters, along with experience on both sides of the football.
The Peach State product also brings the physical development of a year in a military junior-college environment. With limited public biographical information available beyond his football background, Stephens remains one of the Buffs’ more under-the-radar newcomers, arriving with track-level speed and experience at multiple positions.
