Gage Goldberg joined Colorado in 2024 after playing linebacker and baseball at Champion High School in Boerne, Texas.
His last name made him recognizable long before his first college snap. Goldberg is the son of WWE Hall of Famer and former professional football player Bill Goldberg, and he grew up around the wrestling world while pursuing football himself. He also became the second member of his family to play at Colorado; cousin David Goldberg lettered for the Buffs from 2009-11.
Gage has been candid about what comes with carrying such a famous name. Rather than distancing himself from his father’s legacy, he has said he embraces the pressure and hopes not only to continue it but eventually create an identity that stands on its own.
So yes, professional wrestling may still be lurking somewhere in the family future. For now, Goldberg is building his own résumé in Boulder rather than simply being “Bill Goldberg’s son.”
