Kaleb Mathis joined Colorado in 2023 and has developed into one of the Buffaloes’ most active special teams contributors while also working at wide receiver.
Mathis played in all 12 games in 2025 and made his first collegiate start against Kansas State. He led Colorado with 211 special teams snaps across four units and finished with 40 special teams points, the third-most in a season in program history. He also recorded two receptions for 17 yards.
At Grace Prep in Arlington, Mathis caught 103 passes for 1,567 yards and 14 touchdowns over his final two seasons while also contributing on defense.
Football has long been a family affair for the DFW product. His father, Kevin Mathis, is a former NFL defensive back and longtime member of Deion Sanders’ coaching staffs. Kaleb first played for his father and Coach Prime at Trinity Christian before eventually reuniting with both in Boulder.
