Kaneal Sweetwyne joined Colorado in 2026 after a prolific dual-threat career at Skyridge High School in Utah.
Sweetwyne totaled 6,149 passing yards and 53 touchdowns while adding 1,956 rushing yards and 26 scores during his prep career. As a senior, he threw for 3,050 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed for another 907 yards and 14 scores, earning Class 6A All-State honorable mention for the second straight year.
The Beehive State quarterback enrolled early at Colorado after a quick recruitment led by offensive coordinator Brennan Marion. Sweetwyne has described leadership as being dependable, vocal and prepared, with the goal of eventually helping lead Colorado to a championship.
Away from football, his personality comes through easily. Sweetwyne calls himself a people person, loves NBA 2K, Fortnite and Call of Duty, listens to music constantly and enjoys cooking breakfast, particularly pancakes, bacon, eggs and grits.
