Kylan Salter joined Colorado ahead of the 2025 season after beginning his college career at TCU.
The Cedar Hill, Texas, native contributed extensively on special teams during his first season in Boulder while continuing his development on defense. Salter’s athletic background stretches back to Cedar Hill High School, where he played three varsity football seasons and also competed in track as a member of the school’s 4x200- and 4x400-meter relay teams.
His connection to Colorado is also a family one. Kylan’s older brother, Kaidon Salter, played quarterback for the Buffaloes, giving the brothers an opportunity to share part of their college football journeys in Boulder.
The Lone Star State product arrived at CU after two seasons at TCU and has built much of his early Buffs role through special teams, a less glamorous route that often says plenty about a player’s willingness to find ways to contribute.
