Lamont Lester Jr. joined Colorado in 2026 after a breakout career at Monmouth that established him as one of the FCS level’s top young defensive linemen.
The North Jersey product developed at Don Bosco Prep, earning all-county recognition throughout his high school career and first-team All-State honors as a senior. His athletic background stretched beyond defensive end: Lester also lined up at running back, scoring three touchdowns, and competed in both wrestling and track and field.
At Monmouth, Lester went from seeing action in one game as a true freshman to earning CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year and first-team all-conference honors. His rapid development also landed him on the Jerry Rice Award watch list, given to the top freshman in FCS football.
Lester is the son of Sharon Holmes and Lamont Lester Sr.
