Larry Johnson III joined Colorado in 2025 after a college journey through Hutchinson Community College and Tennessee.
The Savannah native began at Hutchinson, where he developed from a Georgia high school lineman into one of the nation’s most highly regarded junior college tackles. He helped the Blue Dragons reach the NJCAA National Championship Game before moving to Tennessee and eventually Boulder. At CU, Johnson worked his way into a starting role on the offensive line before an injury ended his 2025 season early.
Johnson’s full name is Larry Omari Ny’Shawn Johnson III, and he is the son of Natasha Anderson. During his time at Tennessee, he studied communication studies.
The Hostess City product has taken a decidedly long route from Savannah to Boulder, with stops in Kansas and Knoxville helping shape a career built around continued development and perseverance.
