Micah Welch joined Colorado in 2024 and quickly carved out a role in the Buffaloes’ backfield, making three starts as a true freshman and earning additional opportunities throughout his first two seasons.
A Milledgeville, Georgia, native, Welch was a two-time first-team All-State selection and Offensive Player of the Year at Baldwin High School. He also competed extensively in track and field, participating in the 100 and 200 meters, relays, long jump and 400 meters.
Away from football, Welch offers exactly the kind of personality details that make a roster more fun: he enjoys fishing, going to church, working out and looking at houses. He has also expressed an interest in communications academically.
The Peach State product arrived in Boulder after a four-year varsity career at Baldwin and has since developed from a three-star recruit into an experienced piece of Colorado’s running back room.
