Phillip Houston joined Colorado ahead of the 2024 season after stops at Navarro College and Florida International.
The McKinney, Texas, native worked his way from junior college football into a starting role at FIU before continuing that climb in Boulder, where he took over at right tackle during the 2024 season. An injury kept him out of game action in 2025, adding another chapter of perseverance to a college career that has already crossed several programs and levels.
Football also runs through Houston’s family. His father, Gerrald, competed at the University of Texas, while his grandfather played for the Chicago Bears. Houston is the son of Michelle and Gerrald Houston and has two siblings, Anthony and Katlu.
The North Texas product has also pursued an interest well outside the football field, listing international studies as his intended academic focus.
