Quanell Farrakhan Jr. joined Colorado in 2025 as a consensus four-star receiver and earned playing time immediately as a true freshman.
Farrakhan appeared in 10 games with one start, catching his first collegiate pass against Arizona before taking over Colorado’s punt-return duties during the second half of the season. Phil Steele ranked him among the nation’s top freshman receivers.
A versatile playmaker in high school, Farrakhan caught 51 passes for 958 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior at North Shore while returning three punts for scores. He previously played offense, defense and special teams at The Woodlands and earned consecutive first-team All-District honors.
The Houston product received his first Division I offer while still in eighth grade and has spoken openly about learning to handle expectations while creating his own identity. Farrakhan is the son of Bianka Mason and Quanell X Farrakhan and has three siblings.
