Randon Fontenette joined Colorado ahead of the 2026 season after two productive years at Vanderbilt and one season at TCU.
Fontenette started 24 of 25 games for Vanderbilt, totaling 125 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 15 passes defended and an interception. In 2024, he finished third on the team with 73 tackles and returned his first career interception for a touchdown on the opening possession of the Commodores’ upset of Alabama. He followed with 52 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and six pass breakups in 2025.
Fontenette began his college career at TCU, appearing in all 12 games as a true freshman.
A consensus four-star recruit from Texas’ Gulf Coast, Fontenette starred on both sides of the ball at Brazosport High School. As a senior, he recorded 82 tackles and four interceptions while also rushing for 1,024 yards and passing for 1,000 yards.
