Richard Young joined Colorado ahead of the 2026 season after three years at Alabama.
Young appeared in 15 games for the Crimson Tide and scored five rushing touchdowns. He carried 23 times for 64 yards and two scores in 2025 after rushing for 146 yards in 2024, including a touchdown against LSU.
A highly regarded four-star recruit, Young was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 running back by ESPN and among the top seven players at his position by multiple recruiting services. He was selected to the Under Armour All-America Game following a standout career at Lehigh Senior High School.
The Southwest Florida product rushed for 4,693 yards and 42 touchdowns on 571 carries during his prep career, surpassing 800 rushing yards in each of his four varsity seasons. He earned Player of the Game honors 15 times before beginning his college career in Tuscaloosa.
