RJ Johnson joined Colorado ahead of the 2024 season after beginning his college career at Arkansas.
Johnson became an immediate special teams contributor for the Buffaloes, playing in all 12 regular-season games in 2024 and leading the team with 212 special teams snaps across four units. He also recorded nine tackles.
Johnson moved into a larger defensive role in 2025, starting Colorado’s first three games at cornerback before an injury limited him to four appearances. He finished with eight tackles, a pass breakup and his first collegiate interception against Delaware.
A three-star prospect from Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, Johnson played on both sides of the ball in high school. As a senior, he recorded 56 tackles and two interceptions while also catching 32 passes for 486 yards and five touchdowns.
The Peach State product also competed in basketball and track, averaging 17.2 points per game on the hardwood as a junior.
