Colorado’s Week 5 matchup against No. 12 Texas Tech (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) is being viewed as a chance for the Buffaloes to turn their season around.
For the recruiting staff, though, the nearly sold-out contest is a big chance to retain and build on their 2027, 2028 and 2029 recruiting classes as the team takes on plenty of potential NFL talent.
The Buffaloes are hosting four 2027 commits: four-star wideout Jaiden Kelly-Murray (Mount Pleasant, S.C.), four-star quarterback Andre Adams (Antioch, Tenn.) and three-star defensive backs Will Rasmussen (Orem, Utah) and Prince Washington (Houston, Texas). In addition to keeping its current commits impressed, CU is also hosting a current 2027 Notre Dame commit, several ranked 2028s and a handful of impressive 2029s.
Here’s who will all be in town on Oct. 3:
Class of 2027
4-star WR ◦ Jaiden Kelly-Murray
(COMMIT)
After committing to Colorado in late May, just weeks before officially visiting Boulder, Kelly-Murray will be back in town to watch CU take on Texas Tech.
This season has brought a change of scenery for Kelly-Murray, who transferred to Oceanside Collegiate Academy (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) this offseason. However, the 5-foot-10 and 170-pound wideout has been productive, posting 400 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 18 receptions through the first five halves of his senior season.
After he notched a 1,000-receiving-yard season as a junior, he is well on pace for his second-straight thousand-yard receiving season at his new school.
Other offers: South Carolina, Arkansas, Duke, Florida, etc.
4-star QB ◦ Andre Adams
(COMMIT)
Adams gave his word to Colorado in April, over a month before his official visit. Come this fall, he has remained enthusiastic on social media about his decision ahead of returning to campus.
On the field, Adams has remained impressive and kept Antioch High (Antioch, Tenn.) undefeated through six games. While only attempting over 20 passes in a game once this season, Adams has completed 71-of-96 (74%) passes overall for 1,369 yards and 11 touchdowns to just one interception. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder has also shown his running ability, rushing for 487 yards and five touchdowns, too; he ran for 248 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in his season opener.
Other offers: Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State, etc.
3-star DB ◦ Prince Washington
(COMMIT)
The three-star Washington committed to CU in late May, a few weeks before taking visits to Colorado. While the Lamar High (Houston, Texas) star still has interest from others, including Houston, the Buffs are hoping to keep him Boulder-bound.
Standing 6-foot, 180 pounds, Washington has been rather lockdown this season. While he has three tackles (limited scorekeeping), the 6-foot, 180-pound DB has a 27-yard pick-six this year. Washington also has a receiving touchdown.
Other offers: Houston, Arizona State, Memphis, Colorado State, etc.
3-star DB ◦ Will Rasmussen
(COMMIT)
Rasmussen also committed to Colorado in late May, just days after his official visit. Playing for Orem High (Orem, Utah), a better prep football program in Utah, he is not the only recruit from his school that CU is interested in.
So far, though, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back has been an important piece of Orem’s secondary. He’s made 22 tackles through six games, including 1.0 tackles for loss. And he’s broken up a pass. While still waiting for his first interception in 2026 after snatching three in 2025, Rasmuseen has helped Orem to 4-2.
Other offers: Utah, Oregon State, Washington, Texas A&M, etc.
3-star WR ◦ Jackson Coleman
(NOTRE DAME COMMIT)
While Coleman is committed elsewhere, he is one of several highly-touted Valor Christian High (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) recruits coming to see the Buffaloes take on the Red Raiders.
He is also one who is having a fantastic season.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Coleman is four-star QB Titus Huard’s favorite target, posting 117 receiving yards a game; he has 31 catches for 585 yards through five games. With seven touchdowns this season, including one against Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), his best game was a seven-reception showing for 194 yards and three scores in Week 2.
Other offers: Notre Dame, Northwestern, California, Kansas State, etc.
Class of 2028
4-star QB ◦ Titus Huard
As the commander of coach Mike Sanford’s Valor Christian Eagles (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) offense, Huard is a legitimate Power 4 prospect.
Learning from former Buffs head coach Sanford, he’s thrown for 1,204 yards and 11 touchdowns in five games this season. Only a junior, he’s received varsity reps since freshman year and has excelled as the starter since getting his opportunity.
In his career, he’s thrown 28 touchdowns to just six interceptions and stands 6-foot-5, 210 pounds. He has the measurables and ability to develop into an elite quarterback.
Other offers: Ohio State, Oregon, Arizona State, Kansas, etc.
3-star CB ◦ Jaylen Edwards
Holding down the back end for the Glenville Tarblooders (Cleveland, Ohio), Edwards plays above his frame. At just 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, he recorded 37 tackles, eight pass breakups, three interceptions and a forced fumble during his sophomore season. Edwards also has the ability to field kicks and competes on the special teams unit of the Tarblooders.
During the spring, he competes in track, showcasing his speed. As a versatile athlete on the field, he fits the mold of what Colorado has typically targeted in their secondary.
Other offers: Ohio State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, etc.
3-star DT ◦ Antonio Wilcher Jr.
Taking an unofficial visit to Boulder, Wilcher Jr. has received lots of interest from P4 schools as an interior defensive lineman. Through five games of his junior season, the 6-foot-2, 305-pounder has recorded 24 total tackles. Wilcher hails from the Sunshine State and plays for the Miami Southridge Spartans (West Palm Beach, Fla.).
With heavy interest from the top teams in his state, the Buffs will have to work hard to earn Wilcher's commitment.
Other offers: Miami, Georgia Tech, Florida, Minnesota, etc.
3-star IOL ◦ Davis Moon
Moon plays alongside Haurd at Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and has been a three-year starter for the Eagles. At 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, he is developing into a P4 frame and is gaining more attention in recruitment during his junior year.
Part of a premier program in the state, he’s seen a variety of talent in competition and has been coached on fundamentals. While he doesn’t currently have an offer from CU, Moon is a prospect to keep an eye on.
Offers: Syracuse, South Dakota
OT ◦ Tyler Houlf
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound tackle of the Brother Rice Crusaders (Chicago, Ill.) is a prospect the Buffs are watching.
Houlf has also played both center and guard, with highlights in the run and pass. His skill set, athleticism and intelligence allow him to play multiple positions and make him valuable as a prospect. As he gets more film on tape, he will likely attract the attention of bigger schools. He was recently offered on Sep. 17 and is heading to Boulder this weekend.
Other offers: Miami (OH), Toledo, Connecticut, Florida Atlantic, etc.
Class of 2029
IOL ◦ Carson Campbell
Even as a sophomore, Campbell has impressed with what he’s shown at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds. Playing for the All Saints Episcopal Saints (Fort Worth, Texas), he started as a freshman and has quickly picked up offers from across the country. At just 15 years old, he still has plenty of time to grow and add on to his large frame.
While already being a dominant force inside, he will have plenty of colleges to choose from when the time comes.
Other offers: Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Louisiana State, Tennessee, etc.
ATH ◦ Dawawn Whitner
A teammate of Edwards at Glenville (Cleveland, Ohio), Whitner plays outside linebacker for the Tarblooders. Stats are limited, though Whitner and Edwards have helped Glenville to a 4-2 record in 2026.
Other offers: Michigan, Maryland, Arizona State, Miami (OH)
ATH ◦ Kruz Delgado
Standing 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, Delgado transferred to Mustang High (Mustang, Okla.) this offseason. Predominantly playing defensive back, he has made four tackles in two games this season.
Offers: Sacramento State, California, San Diego State, Austin Peay
RB ◦ Kashus Clarvoe
After posting 1,815 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns on 189 carries as a freshman at Broomfield High (Broomfield, Colo.), Clarvoe took his talents to Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, Colo.). CHSAA ruled Clarvoe ineligible after he transferred, though he remains a top sophomore talent in the state.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound back also visited CU during the spring game.
Offers: Fresno State, Colorado State, Northern Colorado
