Danny Manning joined Colorado’s men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach on June 1, 2024, bringing nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience and one of the most accomplished playing résumés in basketball history.
Manning previously served as associate head coach at Louisville and held Division I head coaching positions at Tulsa and Wake Forest, along with an interim stint at Maryland. At Tulsa, he earned Conference USA Coach of the Year honors after leading the Golden Hurricane to a league championship and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 11 years. He also helped develop 14 future professional players at Wake Forest, including first-round NBA Draft pick John Collins.
Manning began his coaching career at Kansas, where he helped the Jayhawks win the 2008 national championship.
A Hattiesburg, Mississippi, native, Manning led Kansas to the 1988 NCAA title and was the consensus National Player of the Year. The two-time NBA All-Star later played 15 professional seasons and was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.
