Cam Newton joined Colorado in 2026 after a prolific career at Walnut Grove High School in Prosper, Texas.

Newton became the centerpiece of the Wildcats’ offense, surpassing 2,000 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns in each of his final two seasons. He finished his prep career with more than 5,000 rushing yards and 82 touchdowns while also contributing as a receiver out of the backfield. Newton earned team MVP honors in each of his three varsity seasons and was named both District MVP and Army Bowl MVP as a senior.

The North Texas product developed alongside a Walnut Grove program that was itself still relatively young, helping establish the Wildcats as a contender during his time there. A consensus three-star prospect, Newton’s combination of consistent production and versatility ultimately brought him to Boulder as part of Colorado’s 2026 recruiting class.
