Sam Gadie joined Colorado in 2026 after a college path through Rutgers and Monroe University.

The Trenton native was a versatile defender at Trenton Central High School, lining up at defensive end, linebacker and defensive back. Football was only part of his athletic background; Gadie also played basketball and competed in track and field.

He began his college career close to home at Rutgers before moving to the junior college level at Monroe, where increased opportunities allowed him to show his ability as a pass rusher and eventually earn his opportunity in Boulder.

Gadie studied Labor Studies and Employment Relations while at Rutgers.

The Garden State product’s career reflects persistence more than a traditional recruiting climb. After spending several seasons waiting for meaningful college snaps, he went searching for an opportunity to prove himself and ultimately turned that path into a chance to compete at Colorado.
